Testimonials from Past Interns

Kody Leach, Summer 2021

Working at Raymer Strength was a fantastic opportunity. Having trained under Coach J in the past, I knew I was getting the chance to work with elite level coaching.

I got to help coach a wide range of athletes, from adults to middle schoolers and learn the differences between their needs. I was able to get great practical and theoretical experience in coaching and programming throughout my time.

I also had the opportunity to learn much more about the business aspects of a private trainer than I anticipated. This led me to find that operations, specifically Sport Operations, are what I’m most interested in pursuing [for my career]. I would highly recommend this opportunity to anyone interested in working in the strength or sports industries.

Darcey Campbell, Spring 2023

I enjoyed every minute of this experience, from the things I learned about coaching and strength training to the wonderful kids that I got to work with. There is a very accepting and positive environment at Raymer Strength, and the coaches do an amazing job of making you feel welcome from day one.

Being a member of this team helped me discover my coaching personality as well as develop my knowledge of weightlifting with an abundance of hands on practice. As an intern you’ll also help with research and get to contribute ideas to the many great projects they have in the works as a growing business.

I am beyond thankful to Coach J and Coach Eddie for taking me under their wings and giving me exposure to the ever growing, ever changing industry that is strength and conditioning.

Jorge “Dez” Hernandez, Fall 2023

Under the guidance of Coach J and Coach Eddie, I honed my ability to create individualized exercise programs. Overseeing movement assessments, analyzing performance metrics, and implementing specialized movement strategies allowed me to witness firsthand the impact of individualized training on athete performance.

My personal development as a coach on the gym floor has also flourished. Not only can exercise programming be individualized, but coaching should also be individualized to the personality and learning style of each athlete. Every little detail matters, and picking at Coach J and Eddie’s seasoned coaches’ eye helped develop my own.

The knowledge gained and the relationships built during this internship continue to resonate in my approach to fitness training and athlete development. It was an invaluable experience that solidified my commitment to helping athletes unlock their full potential through individualized exercise programs.
