Welcome Coach Jorge Hernandez

INDIANAPOLIS, IN– Raymer Strength is pleased to announce that Coach Jorge “Dez” Hernandez is joining the official coaching staff this January. He was recently one of our Fall 2023 interns, and graduated from Indiana University–Indianapolis with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology: Exercise Science this last December.

“We’re excited to transition Coach Dez from intern to official employee— he’s a natural at building relationships with our athletes, and his endurance background gives our team a diverse perspective on our athletes’ programming,” says Jeremy Raymer, CEO and Head Coach of Raymer Strength.

Originally from Matamoros, Mexico, he moved to Indiana during his freshman year of high school, completed 2 years of his degree at IU Kokomo before transferring to Indiana University—Indianapolis. Currently, he also coaches at the Kokomo Soccer Club and has a big passion for the game of football.

Coach Dez got into the Strength and Conditioning field because he admired what athletes are capable of achieving with their minds and bodies. He hopes to inspire athletes to believe in themselves and what they can achieve. He also recently completed his first half marathon— the Indianapolis Monumental. Ask him about his experience when you see him next!

“I look forward to optimizing athletic performance by merging the science of analytics with athletic conditioning,” says Coach Dez about his new opportunity. “… Ultimately propelling our athletes towards success.”

Coach Dez will be training our athletes during Friday’s Athletic Conditioning classes, as well as analyzing our athletes’ performance data. He joins our team with several certifications in addition to his Bachelor’s degree. He’s a Certified Personal Trainer, accredited in the Functional Movement Screen (Level 1) and earned his USSF D Coaching License through US Soccer.
